Distant places. Far-reaching events.
Distinct skill sets.
Northern German Descent
I was born in the summer of 1969 and grew up in Lower Saxony, a region located in the North West of Germany.
Crisscrossing the World
After studying languages at the University of Applied Science in Cologne, I travelled extensively in the 1990s, working as a planner, organizer and manager of global meetings, events and tours for a Düsseldorf-based incentive travel agency.
New York, 9/11 and Obamamania
In 1999, I relocated to Manhattan to coordinate meetings and events within the US for a host of German-based organizations. By 2001, my professional pursuits had led me to a career in journalism, where I started out as a producer for RTL/n-tv's New York bureau. Two years later, I was reporting live from historical events such as the visit of former Pope Benedict XVI, the election of Barack Obama as president of the USA and the Commemoration of Ground Zero.
Editor, reporter and presenter in Germany
At the end of 2008, at the request of the network's senior editors, I relocated back to Germany to work in Cologne's central broadcast center as a writer, editor and reporter for n-tv's economic news devision. In January 2012, I took on the role of anchor for RTL's short news program and in January 2016 for n-tv's certificate program.
Vocal and hosting skills
I am passionate about vocal delivery and range and perfecting my hosting skills. I am grateful for the guidance provided to me by leaders in the field of broadcasting such as Inge Schönberg, Rheinhard Pede and Lia Koenig. I am an active member of the Journalistinnenbund - a German-based women's journalist association, which promotes the visibility of women in journalism. I enjoy international travel and, when at home, I am an avid runner having swapped the tracks of New York City's Central Park for the banks of the Cologne River.
